VPN and Store Access

todo

Well-known member
When I am overseas I cannot access the K Store and buy movies (to download on my K System stateside).

Has anyone tried accessing the store and buying movies etc as if they were stateside using a VPN (on the router stateside)?

When I am away from my home network I cannot access my K Browser (understandably) so I cannot manage for example If I bought a movie in 4K HDR and wanted to delete my Blu Ray copy ....

Has anyone tried doing this using thier VPN?

Thanks in advance.

You could use a domotz to remotely log on to your network and access the web interface as well as open a browser as if you were on your own network.

And I confirm that when using a VPN, you can access the store and buy movies from anywhere around the world. I use NordVPN.

HMA also works fine if you just want to access the store. A personal VPN connection to your home network and then access via the browser interface also works but then you need a VPN firewall on your home network to connect to. I use the Netgear VPN client from my laptop to my home network and then have full 'local LAN access'.

I tried VPN and it works like a charm.
The only thing disappointing was that I could run the iPad APP through the VPN but it would not see my Stratos (or the movies on it) only the Premier server movies.
But practically, why would I need to run the iPad app when I am away from the theater??
Also the VPN could not locate my Crestron iPad App which would be a good thing - to se if the theater is running and control temperature when I am away from my home.
