If you have any concerns, or complaints, about buying in the forum, please let me know and I'll be happy to help resolve any issue. I'm also happy to answer any questions you may have about specific Seller's listing on the Forum. Just PM me for assistance, or with any questions.
I consolidated another thread regarding a scammer that used this forum to sell components, the following is the original post from that thread and illustrates why all buyers should use caution when purchasing on this (or any) site. Here it is:
It has now been confirmed that several people have been scammed by Nicholas Fisher (Fischer) in the buying and selling of Kaleidescape products. I will not go into specific details here in the forum, but having been directly involved in gathering the evidence of these scams I can attest to the dishonesty of Nicholas Fisher in his most recent dealings with Forum members. In several cases people lost both money and equipment that was sent to Fisher to be used in upgrades that were never processed. Because of these activities he has been banned from this Forum, but technology being what it is, it may be possible for him to eventually find his way back to the forum under different names. That said, be very cautious when dealing with anyone buying or selling on this forum, and elsewhere, when it involves K products (both new and used).
Fisher was using "Kscape75" on this forum. In addition to using the name Nicholas Fisher, he has also been known to use the name "John Peckham" according to a former employer. He and a friend "Bob" formed a company to try and sell K products. Bob's direct involvement in these scams has not be confirmed, but he did have contact with some of the affected people, was aware of the allegations, but did nothing to correct the situation according to the people affected.
Additionally, many K components (Servers and Players) that were sent to Fisher to be used in "upgrades" were never returned to these people, nor were they sent to K, and are therefore still out there presumably in the hands of Fisher or his accomplices. They may be holding these waiting for a convenient time to try and sell them to some unsuspecting buyer. It is there therefore recommended you either purchase from verifiable sellers, or check the component serial number with K to determine if it is one of the missing components.
Be cautious!
Also, because I regularly get asked this question, I decided to address it here. No dealer is connected to this forum in a business relationship. All Seller's are independent, and have no affiliation with this forum and we therefore do not control prices, nor do we guarantee the validity of any sales. Just because someone lists multiple items for sale, or has been selling on the forum for a long period of time, should not be taken as an indication they are trustworthy. We do not rate Seller's as some sites do, and the only way we will know if there has been an issue with a particular Seller is if the buyer notifies us about the issue. Be smart, use caution, and exercise common sense when buying (and selling) on this forum, and please notify me if you have any problems. That said, I will make personal comments from time to time if I happen to personally know a particular Seller to be trustworthy. Such comments are not intended to be any kind of purchasing warranty that guarantees a sale, it is just my opinion about the Seller based on prior dealings I may have had with them regarding K gear, while you can add that to the evidence of their trustworthiness, you should still conduct your own due diligence and use appropriate caution before purchasing. Thank you.
