This one is currently getting attention under the narrative: "They announced there WON'T be a Blu-ray! Physical media!! It's the end!!!" As far as I can tell, there simply wasn't an announcement of a disc (which is true of dozens of movies a week). However, this is a critically acclaimed new release from a Disney label, so I'll grant some leeway. Having said that, this is the kind of thing K should be on top of.

I've mentioned before that Home Theater + K + Musical = Winner. So, if this is going to be a digital exclusive (for a while, at least) then K is going to be the definitive way to experience this title. Want disc-quality audio on this new musical? Better get K! It's in the banner cycle on the web store, but get the word out there more. Toss in some notes about best audio available anywhere. Mention it in FB groups, AV Forums, etc.

Totes agree. Recently, I've seen K adverts on Youtube. However, as you mentioned, this particular instance would make for some good adverts in types of places you mentioned, including Youtube. My only counterpoint is the question of whether this movie is popular enough make the people that care focus on the fact that this movie hasn't been announced for disc, yet.

Excuse me? K has a contract with MUBI?!?!?!

My brain: "If K has a contract with MUBI UK, MUBI US can't be far behind, right? MUBI US has the rights to The Fall (Remastered) in 4K Dolby Vision. I mean, obviously K would start with The Substance, but The Fall would have to be the second title, right? I mean, why not launch with both of them? Are we getting THE FALL on K???"

My heart: "Remember NEON? Remember Oldboy? Don't let yourself get hurt again."

A Private Life (2025) in UHD/HD with DTS-HD Master 5.1 from Sony Pictures

How Oldboy and Anatomy of a Fall haven’t been added yet is beyond me……

This has been on the store for a bit, too.

A Private Life (2025) in UHD/HD with DTS-HD Master 5.1 from Sony Pictures
One week later and we get another 4K Dolby Vision title in 4K SDR-only from K. This is another direct-to-digital title from Sony like last week's Clicka.

While things routinely pop off over in the [Buyer's Guide] thread, this is the hill I've chosen. First, I respect the parties in that thread and support the concerns voiced as well as K's responses. However, for those issues, the titles are licensed and I don't believe anything on K's part was "deliberate". Not so here. K is specifically choosing to acquire and release sub-par titles on the K Store. I realize these are direct-to-video, that the audience may be smaller, that there are limited resources... blah, blah, blah.

If it's not worth getting in the best quality, it's not worth getting. End of story in my book.

White Chicks FINALLY in HD. 🤩

....

I sort of wonder if there's an installed base angle here: e.g. most K customers only have SD/HD installations so why incur the expense of a 4K/HDR when most of the customers won't see the glory of it.

Pre-Order
The Bride! (2026) in DV/HDR/UHD/HD from Warner Bros.

Clika and A Private Life were both released in theaters on about 500 screens each in the U.S. (I saw the latter at an AMC.)

Arco (2025) in DV/HDR/UHD/HD with DTS-HD Master 5.1 from NEON

Added in HD now
