The catalog title releases have been garbage since summer. Maybe I am repeating this a third time but I must voice my opinion. How are we ever going to catch up with the vast physical media and even broader streaming media libraries out there?

I don’t expect Kaleidescape store to have every content out there but it shouldn’t be very difficult to look up best selling and most liked movies and start adding those first to the store. No offense to Steven Seagal, I truly love his earlier films and have most of them in my library but I wonder how many people clicked on the purchase button on Sniper: Special Ops (2016) which was added to the store last week.

Nevertheless, I hope Kaleidescape takes my comment as positive criticism and do something about this or maybe I am wrong and they can enlighten me on their film selection. I don’t want to be misunderstood. There are more things right about Kaleidescape store than wrong but I feel Kaleidescape is the type of company which is striving to be better and will pay attention to all criticism.

I want to end my comment with a positive note. The new releases have been great. We got some titles a little later than the disc media but we got more titles ahead of them. For this I am thankful. Matter of fact, I bought Otto and Operation Fortune blindly this week. I had read A Man Called Ove so I have an idea for Otto but Operation Fortune is an absolute unknown expect I love Jason Statham and Hugh Grant films, especially in an action comedy spy genre.

The thing I've always wondered is: does K go to studios and request titles or do they just take whatever is given? Because those are very different approaches. There are titles available on other platforms (for example, the extended versions of the Swedish TV "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" trilogy with Noomi Rapace, which K only has in the abridged theatrical editions), that I don't understand why K-store does not have. I'm just curious if they actively pursue titles and studios, or just accept whatever is given. (Yes, 4K of the entire 007 anthology is amazing and it is not available on physical disc. But more like that please! I see, for example, a lot of Criterion releases say "new 4K master" on regular HD releases. Let's get those 4K masters please!)
