US BR & 4K Releases for January & February 2025

"Snowpiercer" the movie is brilliant, I never saw the show. I am very happy we got a 4K at the store!
I watched the first three seasons of the Snowpiercer TV show, and I'd say it's decent. Haven't seen the final season. I'd buy all of it on K if it were available, I'd rather own it than stream it on AMC+.

Glad to hear this, as I'm up for revisiting the TV show. I watched the first season but got distracted by other series and didn't keep going. I really wrestled with Daveed Diggs' (mis?)casting. I find this man tremendously talented, charismatic, and just joyful. He shows up on screen, I know I'm going to smile. Now, place him in a dystopian future with a character ranging from dour to angry. My brain struggled.

I did like the world building, and it made it four seasons. So, something must have locked in place. It's going back on the list.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 added in 4K SDR/HDR/DV with Dolby TrueHD Atmos from Paramount:

Nosferatu added in 4K HDR/SDR/DV with Dolby True HD Atmos from NBCUniversal:

And Nosferatu even has the extended edition in sdr!

Unfortunately that means you have to download no less than 3 versions of the movie if you want both cuts and still want HDR. Theatrical HDR, Theatrical SDR and Extended Edition SDR (since it is a special feature). Given the style of this film there may not be a lot of need for the HDR version. I will be doing some visual comparisons this week though to see how they look.

Also, while listed as 1.85, it is actually framed at 1.66. Just FYI.

The store shows 1.66 for me. I only use the website unfortunately because the app doesn't seem to show download size.

I have an OLED and not a projector so I'll probably watch the Dolby Vision version and then go back and watch the new scenes on the SDR version. Lots of data but luckily I'm not capped.

Quick note: SDR triggers two downloads, one for movie and one marked as Supplement. I’m assuming that is the Extended Cut but will know more when I try to watch it tonight.

Hopefully there will be a "complete series" Blu-ray box set at some point. Meanwhile, I just sent my email to movies@kaleidescape.com to request this show for the K store. :)

I can report that the separate Nosferatu 4K SDR (Supplement) download is indeed the Extended Cut. Further, it is stored on the title as "Other Version" and NOT as an Extra. So, you get full GUI, full controls, Resume, etc. Bravo.

It looks like AMC+ is currently hoarding the title and it's not available digitally on any store at the moment (Seasons 1-3 used to be on Fandango/Vudu). That makes sense as they clearly paid money to acquire/save the series and would want to leverage it for subscriptions.

Having said that, AMC is generally pretty good with offering their series for digital sale and the fourth season finale was aired on September 22nd so I'd bet we could see something in the next 60-90 days or so.

Big shout out to the K content team this week! We got five of the six big releases on release day! And, if one was going to be missed or arrive late, The End is the right one to pick (in my humble opinion). Four Lionsgate 4K Catalog Updates in an 8 day period?!?!

Great job for any K folks reading!
And the Jackie Brown cover art is exactly the one I'd select! Bravo!

Saved me 12 seconds of effort.

Which I put into coming here and posting about it.

I see that K just added five seasons of Hell on Wheels. Look at K, getting all high on their Lionsgate supply! Three TV Series (13 seasons) and four 4K Catalog Updates in the last few weeks. You know, K, there's only six Lionsgate titles on the 4k Catalog backlog. Just sayin'...

Night Call (2024) in HD with DTS-HD Master 5.1 from Magnolia Pictures

Pre-Order
Flight Risk (2025) in HDR/UHD/HD from Lionsgate

Unfortunately, I can now confirm that the other digital stores got Nosferatu The Extended Cut in 4K HDR/Dolby Vision. The disc is also expected to have both cuts in 4K HDR/DV. This leaves K as the outlier with 4K SDR only on the longer cut. For some buyers, this may put the title on the “Better on Disc” list.

(Eggers has a desaturated palette, it’s only a few extra minutes, etc. All valid points. Regardless, K offering is limited.)

Do we know if 'the brutalist' will come to the store?

If so, any rumours of when that may be?

Thanks so much guys
Love the forum and all the information shared by you all

I don’t see The Brutalist at all. Normally a big title like this should be available for pre-order. Disappointing.
There are too many titles that are simply not available on K-Scape…

The Brutalist isn’t available for pre-order on any other digital store either. I have no doubt it’ll be available on K when it does get released.

Big title for A24 so it should be a sure thing. Likely release within 30 days or so.

Not correct. It’s available to pre-order on the Apple TV Store.

No, it’s not, at least not in the US. There’s just a placeholder page with the trailer that says coming soon, and Kaleidescape doesn’t do placeholder pages until available for pre-order.
