Seven is on sale for $14.99, which might be an error, so I bought it immediately just in case

Oh wow, both of these are amazing to see in the store, especially Con Air. I didn't think Disney would ever be upgrading the Touchstone movies to 4K.

Upgrade price on Con Air is $17.48 (regular price $19.99). Gotta love Disney.

Into the Badlands (Season 1) added in HD from Lionsgate:

I'm enjoying this little game of tic-tac-toe that K is doing with this series. We got Season 3. Now we have Season 1. K, you need to connect all three before you win the (my) money!

Anyway, a terribly fun show. A gun-less future of kung-fu, magic, and territorial warlords. Well acted and beautiful to look at. Recommended... when they have all three seasons.

Thanks for keeping this up John, it's very helpful to me! It's often hard to know when discs are released, I didn't even know The Third Man was released in 4K last November until someone mentioned it in comments to another top ten list.

For this period, I get the excitement around Seven, but I can't re-watch it. The thing that happens is too much for me.

Instead, my purchased and/or preordered key titles are:

Jan. 6
The Usual Suspects remastered 4K HDR from Arrow (not on K in 4K)

Jan. 14
Snowpiercer 4K HDR Steelbook from Lionsgate (not on K in 4K)

Jan. 21
Venom The Last Dance 4K HDR Steelbook from Sony Pictures (Already on K)
Jackie Brown 4K HDR Steelbook from Lionsgate Limited (not on K in 4K)
Kill Bill Vol. 1 4K HDR Steelbook from Lionsgate Limited (not on K in 4K)
Kill Bill Vol. 2 4K HDR Steelbook from Lionsgate Limited (not on K in 4K)

Feb. 3
Wicked 4K HDR Steelbook from Warner Bros. (Already on K)

Mar. 17
Yojimbo & Sanjuro Set 4K HDR from BFI (not on K at all)

Wonderful restoration - sat mesmerised throughout. An old favourite that is now a new favourite.

The Man in the White Van (2023) in HDR/UHD/HD with DTS-HD Master 5.1 from Relativity Media

Jackie Brown 4KUHD comes out on Jan 21, but from Lionsgate. Is Lionsgate on K ? (Pulp Fiction is on Paramount)
Lionsgate is one of the studios on K that you can search by. I pre-ordered the 4K discs for Jackie Brown, Kill Bill 1&2.

If K provides these in 4K on their launch day, then I will return my pre-orders.

K has a contract with Lionsgate, but has a really spotty record for getting 4K Catalog Updates, especially from them. In January, Lionsgate is releasing four of these a week apart.

My best guess is we get Kill Bill 1 & 2 at release, Jackie Brown gets delayed, and we never see Snowpiercer. Pure speculation. But, based on history with the studio, there’s a higher chance we get none than we get all.

I should mention that Criterion has Sanjuro and Yojimbo on 4K SDR released Jan 7, but I’m waiting for the BFI version. BFI’s Seven Samurai had HDR and also looked sharper and higher contrast than Criterion’s softer, flatter image, with more film artifacts scrubbed out. I own both.
