And additional context, Remote Two was nowhere near the successful Kickstarter campaign that Remote 3 was. When Remote Two delivered, they didn't have a ton of extra stock on hand, and it sold out quickly. They focused on the software and improving it, and when it came time to manufacture more hardware, they decided that, instead of making more of a product that was designed on 2-3 year old hardware components, they would implement user feedback from the Two, use newer hardware that would be available for a longer period of time, and announced the Remote 3.
Because the two are built upon the same software, the Remote Two is not being left behind and will see basically all of the software updates and improvements that come with the Remote 3.
This was not a planned obsolescence, like some companies are known for. This is progress.
They are manufacturing in much larger quantities for the Remote 3, so there will be units available much further into the future. The process on this has been pretty quick for a Kickstarter. It just seems like it will take forever because they were unavailable from the Remote Two run.
But they're doing it the best way possible, and it won't be long.
