Hi Guys n Gals,
I am trying to access my server via http://my-kaleidescape from a windows machine.
My settings are:
KScape subnet = 10.20.140.xx (server ip 100)
Domain subnet = 10.20.100.xx
In dns on my DC i have created a new reverse lookup zone for the kscape subnet.
I have added a ptr record to my-kaleidescape to ip 10.20.140.100
In AD Sites and Services I have also added the KScape subnet but nothing else in there.
from the DC or local machines i can ping 10.20.140.100 and access the web interface via this method.
I can ping -a 10.20.140.100 and it resolves it to:
Pinging my-kaleidescape [10.20.140.100] with 32 bytes of data:
However if i try and ping my-kaleidescape it cannot find it.
Reason I am trying to do the above is to get kaleidescape conductor to see my server. when conductor runs it says it cannot find my server. If I right click the task bar icon The Manage Kaleidescape is greyed out.
Is there a way to put in the ip address for it to find the system
