Terra front panel light

Random question, but I have noticed that over the last several days that the front panel light of my Terra server has remained on........it isn’t of any bother, but as this hadn’t been the case, previously, I was curious if there might be a change in operation?

Yes. This is a recent change to kOS.

I read at the AVSforum that @Applemike68 has contacted K for this reason. They have told him that following the recent upgrade the lights now stay on.

It would be nice if they could do an update to where, using the Strato remote, we could turn that very bright light on the Terra off!

That would be a big undertaking since the Terra has no IR receiver in it.

You can change the brightness of the front panel light via the User browser interface on the Settings > Components tab. Note that this setting is in effect at all times though. Not just during movie playback.

That how I have mine setup. No lights. The lights do come on during boot up, but then off….

Interesting. My new 48TB Terra light has never come on at startup or in steady state. I've adjusted the browswer setting from off to Bright and no setting turns it on. My dealer has gotten advance replacement agreement once K has them back in stock. My main concern is if something is amiss in the lighting circuit such as a cracked solder joint is there anything more important that could show up later. Plus when you pay this kind of money for something you want it to fully work out of the box.

No arguments to your last sentence.

I am pretty sure the led is on a separate board.

Thanks guys! Following your instructions by going to the ip address, I was able to turn off the Terra light.

I knew you guys were good for something. (jk)
