Given that Kaleidescape has announced the intention to end sales of the Premiere-line equipment soon (may be helpful to read the full context of that announcement at this link) Jim and I would like to gather some data which we will pass on as unsolicited advice to Kaleidescape. Please understand it is completely unofficial and we have no idea if Kaleidescape will do anything at all with the data. We just want to give them some data to consider regarding some ways of keeping Premiere-line owners happy in the Kaleidescape family for years to come with their movie collection

As you answer the questions, consider that the 1U+ currently retails for $13k with 18TB of available storage space, and $18.5k with 30TB of space. The existing upgrade program offers a 25% discount on those prices for sending back your current Premiere-line server, but we're trying to assess if there would be more demand if the price were lower.

END-USER OWNERS: answer the questions on the basis of your own purchase intent to upgrade Premier-line servers( 3U, 5U, 1U) to a new 1U+ server. The new servers would come with a fresh 3 year warranty (extendable to 5 years with paid extension).

DEALERS: answer the questions based on your intent to buy servers for your own stock, for your current customers, and for future customer needs.
