Strato with non-4K Display

If you have a Strato with non 4K display and you buy the 4K title, will it download the 4K version and downscale or just download the HD version?
 
Here are other things to consider.

-When a 4k title is purchased, studios generally include the HD version.
-UHD movies are twice the size of HD movies.
-Is UHD scaled to HD better than the HD version?
-Currently, ATMOS and other premium soundtracks are more prevalent in the HD versions on the K store - but it’s always changing.
 
I believe from the brief period I had my Strato without a 4k display, it will warn you for downloading and not display the 4k versions in the list.

Thanks for clarification. Only had HDR versions during my tests.
