Strato V HD Compatibility Analysis

When you say DVD or Blu-ray Disc, are you talking about actual discs imported onto a Premiere system or in a vault?

Thanks Mike - I mean "catalogued" data from scanning physical discs. These were subsequently upgraded via digital offers on K-scape, but the catalogued data still shows up as a movie "type." Using Terra servers and Strato V player, not Premiere or other system that can play physical discs.

Brief update at the 5 month mark...

44% of my HD titles have been updated for Strato V; 56% to go.
70% of HD updates to date involve Removed Extras, Removed Cuts, Extras Downgraded to SD, etc.

Once K gets through the remaining 56%, I assume they'll begin to double-back and restore the Extras and Alternate Cuts.

The above is only my own personal experience. For many users, the vast majority of their libraries have already been converted. It may simply be that my own collection heavily favors titles that are more complicated to convert. (FYI, I have hardly any concerts, so that's not it.)

I think it is worth noting for anybody who has a system that is both Strato and a Premier line with a Co-Star, none of these issues are a problem as the HD content will just play from the old M series player. As that has been my situation, I have not noticed the continuing issue with HD compatibility on the Strato.

Do you mean a system with both a Strato V and Premiere server (with Co-Star)? Or are you referring to Strato C or Strato S?

Well, the Strato C and S don't have the compatibility issues, but the V does. I have the premier server and M-players with a Co-Star for the Strato V and they just play the HD file from my premier player so there is no real compatibility issue for me. I don't move the HD content onto the Terra prime server because I wouldn't be able to play that from my other players where I have not put a Strato in yet. I have a Strato in 2 of my 6 zones in the house, with the other 4 only having the M-player for the moment.

Thanks for the clarification. Since I house HD titles on my Terra servers (in addition to those housed in the M700), if I were to hook up the V to this system, it would defer to the Terra servers, and therefore incompatible content would not play. I think I'll stick with my Strato S for that system and use the Strato V in a different room on a standalone basis (to get the benefit of DV).

My conversion ratio is closer to 80/20, with a little over 80% converted with just under 20% to go. The updates are coming less frequently at the moment, but they will get to all of them.

I see that many of the concerts are on sale (half price). I would love to buy them, but none (on my Wish List) are compatible with the Strato V at the moment.
