Strato C weird HDMI issue

I recently upgraded from a JVC NZ7 to a JVC NZ900. At the same time I replaced my Storm ISP Core with an Anthem AVM 90.

Before these changes, running my Strato C through my Storm to the NZ7 worked fine. No handshake issues.

Since the changes, for some reason everytime I first start up the Strato C and the NZ900 from power off states, the video will flash to a black screen about every 10 seconds. Whether I'm on the Kaleidescape home screen or trying to watch a movie (doesn't matter format).
And if I go to the Strato C web gui settings while this is happening it doesn't show any format support on the HDMI port (no EDID information).

Simply switching to another input (like my Apple TV) and then back to the Strato C (so essentially turning the Strato C off and back on again) fixes the issue and all works as normal. Can play entire HDR10/Atmos movies without issue.

I know HDMI cables are the first thing to troubleshoot but these are the same cables (Zeskit Maya 2.1 passive, 7m length) that have been error free until the Anthem and NZ900 change.
Likewise, my Xbox Series X outputting 4k/120Hz does not have any issues.

Anyone run into this before?

Power on sequence and delay doesn't change behavior. It doesn't matter if I have the projector on for x amount of time, then receiver, then finally Strato. Or if I have Strato on then receiver. Etc. Still have to change inputs to something else and back.

I'm going to run HDMI directly from Strato to projector now.

I am also thinking of ordering one of the active PixelGen THX (7.6m) cables but would hate to spend money on it and it not make a difference.

I just (finally) realized this is deja vu...as this same exact issue happened for the few weeks I had an Anthem AVM 70 last year before switching to the Storm. My fix back then was to run HDMI directly from Strato to the projector, which I am doing now.

If you don't need HDMI 2.1 functionality, you can change the EDID on the JVC to EDIB B for HDMI 2.0 functionality. This has solved quite a few HDMI handshake issues with a variety of components.

Other than gaming, the only time you would need HDMI 2.1 functionality would be with an Envy Extreme if you wanted to run MotionAI at 120 fps.
