Strato 1U vs. Strato 2U vs. Strato-C as Player for Terra

I am curious to know if there are any differences when comparing Strato (with storage) vs Strato-C when playing from a networked Terra.

Does the Terra need a Strato-C to enable higher speed downloads?

Thanks.

Download speeds are only determined by where the download is going. As long as the Terra has space all downloads will go to it and you will get fast downloads even with a Strato player. You will only see slower downloads when the Terra runs out of space and downloads start going to the Strato (w/storage).

As a secondary player then, would the main difference in the strato universe at this point would be dimensions of the player, warranty and storage (considering two simultaneous streams at max)?

Warranty is the same for all Strato players (now 5 years).
Yes, as to dimensions (with the C versus the full size Strato).

Yes, Strato with Storage is limited to two simultaneous streams (one for it's own player, and the other to support another Strato in the same system), as opposed to Terra Servers that can support more simultaneous streams.

Some differences:

TERRA (FULL SIZE, 2RU)

  • Up to 10 streams for 4K resolution (HDR or UHD formats)
  • Up to 15 streams for HD resolution
  • Up to 50 streams for SD resolution

TERRA (COMPACT, 1RU, HALF-WIDTH)

  • Up to 5 streams for 4K resolution (HDR or UHD formats)
  • Up to 10 streams for HD resolution
  • Up to 20 streams for SD resolution

The above numbers are when connected to Strato-C players. Also, the number of simultaneous streams is reduced if the simultaneous playback content is using the same internal storage drive (KDISK).

Strato w/storage is as noted in the last post.
