I've noticed the site slowing down considerably over the past few weeks. Many of you probably have seen the same

In combination with our hosting provider, we found that we're getting constant DOS (Denial of Service) attacks from various geos... mostly Ukraine, Russia, China, and this week a lot from Israel.
I don't know why our little forum here is at all of interest to these bad guys, but there are over 10,000 page loads per MINUTE being requested right now, which is why some of us can't get to the site with good responsiveness.

Fortunately, they have not broken the site...
But today I'm deploying a much more advanced firewall with the ability to autodetect and block these types of things.
So the site may be down for a bit over the next hour, and then, if all has gone well, our normal speedy site should be back running better than ever.

THANKS again to our generous PREMIUM subscribers and PATRONS... this change will cost us $500 today and $250 per year (on top of the other hosting, software licenses and domain fees). We're able to pay these fees and keep the site running because of the generosity of these great members. You'll notice the "PREMIUM" or "PATRON" badges on their posts...
