Roadhouse Movie 2024

Roadhouse 2024 is produced by Amazon Studios and will not get a theatrical release but will starting streaming on Amazon Prime video in March 21.

Is there any history of K picking up movies that were streaming only, specifically Amazon Studios releases?

Off the top of my head, The Tomorrow War and Candy Cane Lane are both Amazon films, and they are available on K. Of course there's the whole produced by, distributed by, released by, etc distinction which I can't really explain. But I'm sure someone else on this forum with deeper industry knowledge can. :)

Don't know about CCL, but TTW was a Paramount production (with a couple of others), but sold to Amazon Studios because of the release being in the early Covid shutdown. Given what they paid to acquire the title, Amazon probably figured they'd need wider distribution to make it profitable (I think the film was more $200 mil. to produce.)

Saltburn is a MGM/Amazon one. I think there is a VERY good chance we will see the new Roadhouse given how many Amazon movies have come to K already.
