Rentals -v- Disc to Digital

I was doing my regular search for discs to digital offers and have found two anomalies - first is that I am offered the SD version of a BluRay that I already own. No big deal but I am hardly likely to down-grade.

Second and more perplexing is that I am offered rental options on some SD movies but no option to buy, even without a DTD discount (i.e. Kind Hearts and Coronets). Why can they be rented but not bought (ignoring any price issues)? Why would I rent something that I already own? I only look at DTD to try to move everything to the supported Encore environment ahead of the dreaded day when my Premiere systems stops working...

Hi Chris,

It simply happens because these movies are not available in HD at the K Store. Have a dozen BD discs in my vault but since they are only available in SD in the store, I won't upgrade before they become available in HD. I will D2D the moment they become available. Such cases are tracked in another thread: Store "Hole" Feedback

You are only offered the rental option because these movies are only rentals and not available to buy. Not sure I understand why this is the case, maybe someone from K can enlighten us. I am sure that as soon as they become available for purchase you will be able to D2D them.

This is an unfortunate bug that has slipped through. The Disc-to-Digital and Digital Offers collections should not be showing any titles that are rental-only.

We're tracking the issue and working on a fix.

Thanks John.
