Question on Kaleidescape Conductor

SHOEMAN

Well-known member
If I understand it right. The way the music works today for imports is going away...But we will have the ability to import and then enter the tracks and cover art on our own. (Which we all do now on anything current.) But my question is will the Kaleidescape Music Conductor still update my I tunes library or is that going away as well? That would be brutal I love that the K copies over my new ads and updates to my playlists into my i tunes.

Anybody know the answer????

Solution
That's correct -- we are not adding new music metadata at this point, but any disc that was recognized before June 30 will continue to be recognized.

There are no plans to make any changes to Conductor. With that said, we have been faced with situations in the past where changes in iTunes broke our integration, and we had to make large investments of engineering time to resolve the issue. If something like that were to happen again, we would have to make a business decision based on how much effort would be required to fix it.
I was under the impression that the only change after June 30th is that no newly released CDs would be recognized. But anything already in the database would recognized just as it is now if that CD is imported into the system. But I could be wrong...
