Got a call from Quantum yesterday that they could install my new modem a week earlier than scheduled. luckily I was at home and I had 55 minutes to clear away the detritus in the area where the CenturyLink modem was located. Installation went smoothly and was up and running in about an hour.
I use a Netgear 970 Orbi WiFi 7 router with 2 satellites. Download at the router was about 2400 mbps and upload about 1000 mbps. WiFi to my iPhone 15 was 1300 mbps. One of my satellites is at the HT location and I use its Ethernet ports for streaming with Apple TV primarily. Checking download speed at the satellite, I got about 2300 mbps, courtesy of the dedicated backhaul connection.
I’ve ordered a Stratos V and 8 TB server. I’m hoping I can successfully locate the server at the router location, otherwise both will be at the HT cabinet. Will report back after I’ve got everything. In the meantime, I’m scanning the K store for what I want to get initially. Really looking forward to it.
