Panasonic drive not connecting for d2d

I just purchased the Panasonic BDR-X13UBK drive to update disk for the disk to digital Program. I powered it up and connected the drive via the usb to my mini terra and put in a disk. My terra is not connecting to it and I’m not gettting the 3 blinks to let me know it’s reading the disk. The Panasonic stays on for a little bit then cuts off because it’s not reading anything. I’ve tried it a few times and nothing. Do I have to format the drive or do anything special with the terra?

Try resetting your Terra and Strato from the web UI. That worked for me.
 
You've already solved the issue but as you discovered, in order to catalog discs via an external USB drive you must connect the drive to a Strato or Strato C player. You cannot connect the drive to a Terra server.
