More and more excellent movies are coming from places like Netflix, Amazon, Apple and Hulu. Is Kaleidescape working with (or trying to work with) any of those companies to get "master files" of those streamed movies to be able to offer to their Kaleidescape clients?

These streaming services follow an interesting strategy. Netflix releases most of their content on DVD only. Probably because they still have their DVD rental service. There is still a lot of areas in the US without broadband internet. They can reach those markets with these DVDs but they reserve the higher resolution versions exclusive to their streaming platform.

They tried a collaboration with Target a couple of years ago. They released Stranger Things season 1 and 2 on 4K UHD Blu-ray in a retro VHS packaging. They were $30 each at first but quickly dropped to $10 then disappeared. Perhaps the sales weren’t there?

They also licensed their content to Criterion which released The Irishman and Roma on Blu-ray discs.

We have The Expanse seasons 1-3 on the Kstore. Amazon has purchased the rights on this show and the season 4 came out on Prime. We will see if Kscape will be able to get the season 4.

But Netflix also rents BluRays. But my question was are you (or anyone) aware of any activity by the K organization to try and get master files (or equivalent) from those players? K has always been very secretive, at least since their closing then re-opening, of what is going on inside the company, a strategy with which I completely disagree.

Anything K can do to inform both users and prospects that they have strategies in place to insure their long term success would be very beneficial to them. But that is not them.

Orange is the New Black seasons are here (and on sale at the moment). These are Netflix produced shows. Unfortunately, I don’t have the inside intel. I believe an upcoming releases list would be great.

The Expanse Season 4 was just released months before the scheduled Blu-ray disc.

Syfy channel produced the first three seasons but Amazon Prime produced the seasons four and five.

Now, are we going to get the Man in the High Castle? Idk but at least we are getting some of the Prime exclusives.
