Newbie question - sorry :-(

So I finally bought a Strato 12TB as my entry into the world of Kaleidescape.

I love it but I really want to import my collection of DVD's and Blu-Rays.

I have heard all about the "grandfathered" units but I really don't know which one to buy that will give me the easiest ride here. Not looking to set up a massive server bank...just a simple unit that allows me to pop in a disc and rip it onto either it's own HD or onto my Strato (2nd choice).

Can I please get a bit of advice here? I see tons of legacy models on E-Bay and even here but I don't want to make a mistake. I have a dealer but he's not stepping up to help....maybe because there is no profit motive in it for him.

Side note, not interested in one of those massive disc changers that would take up half of my rack :)

Thanks,
Russ

Hi Russ, I'd be happy to explain the systems and provide some advice, but would be easier if you can call me. I'll PM you my contact info.
