Multiple Terra Compact servers

If you have multiple Terra severs in a system do you need to manage them in any way? Should you fill one up first? Are movies loaded round robin?

I am no expert but I have two and assuming they are both connected/online then movies are automatically Downloaded to the one with the most space. If for some reason you want to direct a movie to a specific box then basically you turn the other one(s) off before doing the download.

From a playing perspective, it’s transparent. The 2 servers appear to the player as one list of movie data and so irrelevant to the user other than ensuring they are turned on.

I believe the most capable Terra gets priority rather than the largest storage size. I believe there was a full size chassis 12TB Terra for a brief while in the past. It would have a precedence over a 22TB Compact Terra within the same system due to its 15 zone capability. If you add identical capability servers to the same system, then the later servers will wait for the earlier servers to fill up.

To the users, there is no management to do. You will see all libraries from all servers merged into a single master library on your display. If you disconnect one of your servers, the titles on that server will disappear from your master library instantly but other will continue to appear. This integration is done so well that even if a single HDD malfunctions out of all your servers, you will still see all other titles on the remaining HDD’s and other servers.

Unless you have enough playback zones to saturate the compact Terra, or you want to use one in a mobile setup, there's not much reason to manually manage the downloads.
