Movies with Incorrect Aspect Ratio Information

Wondering what the difference would be for these ratios? Will this setting ignore the bars for DTM calculation, or something else? Obviously the ARs in-between scope and 16x9 would be for scaling on a scope screen, but once you go past 2.35 or 2.4, I can't think of any other effect except for ignoring black for DTM?
There would be no reason to do this unless you had a screen that was greater than the aspect you intended or wanted to lock it. If you watch something 2.76 and have a scope screen, it will just frame it within the screen.

Which is what you set my Lumagen to do, so I’m good with the scope screen.

Might be an interesting feature for the Lumagen, though, to be able to ignore the letterbox area when calculating the tone mapping? Or is the math already doing that anyway?

It does in some areas, but there wouldn't be much point to it for the letterbox areas as it is looking for pixels to compress and black areas don't really matter in that respect.

The Creator: Listed 2.40, Actual 2.76

I really wish they would just list the correct aspect ratio. It just seems lazy that they are not changing the information to the correct aspect ratio and users have asked for this to be done for a long time.

Already listed.

I have a Lumagen now, so not a big deal for me anymore. Reasonable request, understandable cause, but also not necessarily a quick fix.
