Millennium Club (Who's With Me!)

Here is my summary:

Total downloaded titles: 1864 (774 4K)
Blu-ray discs: 235
DVD’s: 84

Total: 2183

I used to have ~125 BR concert discs that I considered “critical” (I listen/watch them all the time). This number is now down to 21 discs. Nice job by K to continuously add concert titles! Also, nice to have 10 titles from Eagle Rock that are now available in 4K (and counting). Nine of those are not available in 4K on disc.

Also, interesting to notice the Warner Bros, Top 100 titles that were on sale for Black Friday in 2013 for $1.50 each - that was a nice sale!!!

John
I remember this sale !! I also remember that every Warner new release was $14.99 for a week or so !
First purchase for me was "Caddyshack" on December 14th, 2012.

Couldn't agree more @JohnJ lots of concerts were added. Still some way to go, some critical(for me) are in my vault - see below if interested.

Hmm.

2817 movies. 510 or so from the store.

A lot are still DVDs.... our local southeast salvage chain bought the entire Blockbuster disc to home inventory that they rotate to the stores often. Many of hours going through them. Average price was .20c a movie!

I'm currently saving for a few Terra Servers, but I have:
2659 movies on Kaleidescape of which 841 are HDR & 82 UHD only.
393 Cataloged Bluray & DVD's not in the K Store.
3052 Total Movies.

I began collecting movies in the early '90s and have 1610 DVDs and 1196 Blurays.

I’m loving this thread 😎 so cool to get an insight into folks’ collections. Probably more so than the rooms we view in.

can you remember your first DVD/BR too along side first store purchase like some have mentioned?

My first DVD was LA Confidential circa 98/99 and first R1 import was Three Kings around same time.
First BR I’ve got no idea! But just 4K disc was Wonder Woman (2017?)
First store purchase was HDR upgrade for The Matrix (Sep 2018)
First store purchase out right was Solo (17 days later)

I thought this link to the history of the Store would be apropos to the thread:

This is a thread that I update when there are new studios added but nothing added in a while lately so some members/visitors my not have seen this Yet.

I have been collecting movies on DVD long before I knew K existed and have most of them still.
I stumbled upon my first K component when I was looking for a Blue ray Vault to store my burgeoning blue ray collection.
It sure is nice not to fumble around with disks when I'm trying to decide what to watch!

My collection is at a total of 3785 Movies.
3444 DVDs
341 Blue rays
Plus 1421 Music Albums
I have about 100 4K discs I still have to load in a 4K player because I don't have a Strato yet, but it's coming soon; I just bought a Costar.

I think a good sized collection is in the 500 to 1000 movie range, but we can't help ourselves. As I've said elsewhere in the forum, we're just like the coin and stamp collectors, but for us it's films. If I watched one movie a day, after subtracting my duplicates, it would take me 14.5 YEARS just to watch what I currently own, and obviously that doesn't include any new movies along the way! Put that way, it's quite ridiculous.....and unfortunately while I can find drug, alcohol, porn, and sex rehab centers.....there are none for film collectors.

Jim
Where do we find that info on our account? I don't see it right off.

1,342 for me (you guys are putting me to shame!). How many of you have firsthand experience with this piece of equipment? That's how I got all my movies onto my 3U back in 2007 (and it's still in my system today!)

KSPEEDREADER-2. Prior to these devices (there was an earlier version as well) we were all using the one disc at a time KREADER.

As a trial lawyer, I remember being so focused on the cases I was working that it was a huge stress reliever to get home and play with my K system. In one particular trial, I was waiting for the jury to come back (I was the D attorney in a SEC 10b-5 case), and couldn't sleep the night before the jury returned with the verdict (we knew they had a verdict, but the judge put off the reading to the following morning). That SPEEDREADER-2 happened to be delivered that day, and I spent almost all night setting it up and importing discs. It was a wonderful distraction that night, so I have fond memories of that device! Nice to see you're still using it!

I love your stories @cinelife 👌🏼🏆

Stories come with age....if we're really living....
I decided that since I only had 29,200 days to walk this earth (based on the average 80 year lifespan of my relatives), and assuming no intervening reduction, I wanted to do as much as I could so that I'd have no regrets in the end. The first 5,475 days were mostly uneventful, but fun as I remember. Went to college at 15 yo, graduated at 18, so those years were uneventful as well (no social life, no 18yo frosh females date a 15yo!). When I graduated I was determined to try anything that interested me....and law had its time in that journey.:)

I have no doubt that there are some really nice collections of films out there, and very interesting people that own them. We all have a story, none better, nor more important than anyone else's story. In the end it only matters that no one is hurt by your presence in this world, and YOU were satisfied with the life you lived.

There are many people on this forum that I admire greatly, not at all because of what they have, always because of who they are, and I'm thankful for their participation.

(Posted in response to a few very kind emails I received.)

That's the device for sticking blu-rays when cycling through discs because your vaults are full, right? Maybe I'm doing it wrong.
