Millennium Club (Who's With Me!)

I was chatting with another owner and made a comment thinking I was closing in on the millennium club with 1k+ movies, so I decided to check.

1,074. Already hit it. Anyone else in the club?

I benefited from getting into Kaleidescape with a hefty UV library before UV went away. Then a bunch of D2D. Plus regular buying of titles in the sales and new titles along the way.

I'd be curious to know much storage it would take to download the entire library with room to grow. Should be a full 48TB Terra plus a good portion of a second one. At this point, I'll be cycling content permanently.

For quick counting, if you go to the movie store online and the "My Movies" link, it shows 120 entries per page. I'm on page 9 and very near to rolling over to page 10.

Haha, I like the badge idea 😎🏆
here’s my stats: 🤓🍿

21 full pages (-1 film) 🙈
2 full pages (-3 films) of D2D options
Not available in the store:
827 (US)
861 (Canada)
1005 (UK)
Respect mate!!!

Total in my system 2'883:

2'244 Store Downloads:
710 HDR
77 UHD
1334 BD Quality
123 DVD Quality
-----------------------------------
406 DVDs "ripped" in the 1U+ server most of them will never show up on K.
233 BDs in the vault still......

@Kostas Cheers dude 🍿 Think I definitely have a problem and need a new drug habit 🤣🙈

Quite cool though that it lists them in the order they were purchased, first store purchase was The Matrix in HDR back on just September 1st 2018 🙈🤣

From memory I think my UV collection was 880 or so when it shutdown. A fair chunk would have moved over to K naturally but not all.

I am at 1143 and rising with all the specials. Most are DVD and BluRay but with recent Terra purchase (and generous store credit) it is getting out of hand.

Between my systems, 6,378 movies....I'm too lazy to break out the resolutions.....about 1100 are duplicates. The crazy thing is that I haven't watched about 95% of those movies since they were imported/downloaded! (Guests have, but I just don't have the time these days!)

I think a good sized collection is in the 500 to 1000 movie range, but we can't help ourselves. As I've said elsewhere in the forum, we're just like the coin and stamp collectors, but for us it's films. If I watched one movie a day, after subtracting my duplicates, it would take me 14.5 YEARS just to watch what I currently own, and obviously that doesn't include any new movies along the way! Put that way, it's quite ridiculous.....and unfortunately while I can find drug, alcohol, porn, and sex rehab centers.....there are none for film collectors.

Jim,
I have seen a big change in my movie 'Rat Packing' habits since COVID. I used to buy every movie in sight - out of the 3300 or so I own many many I have never watched.
But not post COVID and with K doing so well with availability - I buy movies as I watch them.
This is a very good time for the consumer who owns K.

In the past year I have lost a ton of weight and rid myself hopefully of my fat food addiction. KScape movie addiction is another story. I'm a quarter over having my 40 TB Terra Server capacity and shortly to get another Terra Server. Ouch!

Ditto @cinelife quite amazing/scary how many I’ve not watched. I’ve certainly managed to reel it in a bit since it’s now just me here, I was watching a film every day or two but need the headspace to correct itself as I struggle to watch anything at the moment.

I think there’s actually an opportunity here for the K app, that we’ve discussed in other threads, the ability to share playlists and track watch lists. Plus improvements in how it shows a collection - like everything you own, with those not downloaded greyed out for instance

Good point! I still continue to add movies, but only have time to watch the latest releases. In any case, joking aside, it is fun to add new films, and it certainly benefits visitors and family, and obviously downloading from the Store provides the best digital copy available.

Here is my summary:

Total downloaded titles: 1864 (774 4K)
Blu-ray discs: 235
DVD’s: 84

Total: 2183

I used to have ~125 BR concert discs that I considered “critical” (I listen/watch them all the time). This number is now down to 21 discs. Nice job by K to continuously add concert titles! Also, nice to have 10 titles from Eagle Rock that are now available in 4K (and counting). Nine of those are not available in 4K on disc.

Also, interesting to notice the Warner Bros, Top 100 titles that were on sale for Black Friday in 2013 for $1.50 each - that was a nice sale!!!
