MDV Inventory Reset

Well-known member
Long story short, one of my MDVs basically lost count of which discs were in what slots. So when I asked it to eject all of the 100 discs in it, it only ejected 98.

Tom Barnett was kind enough to point out that you can force your MDV to redo its inventory by the following command

http://{Your M Class Player IP here (e.g.}/inventory.html

It will take 1-2 hours while the unit reinventories the discs inside it.

As a point of information, Tom tells me the MDV itself doesn't keep the database, the M player does. And one nice thing about the new big M700 vault/player is there the vault does keep its inventory. I bet there are many other improvements over the MDV.

Anyway thanks to Tom and everyone at Kaleidescape for more really excellent technical support.

I don't think anyone would have to worry about this if they have not experienced a problem, but if you think you've loaded discs into your MDV and they don't show up, this is a handy command to be aware of.
