I'm sure some folks have already seen these codes, but I decided to create this thread to make them easier to find.

M700 AND DV700 DISC VAULT ERROR CODES

Description

The following explains the meaning of codes displayed on the front panel LCD of of the Vault when the vault gets into an unrecoverable error state. During such state the LCD will show the message "Error N; Press OK to restart", where N is a number documented below.

Notes:
  • Unrecoverable error, in this context, means an error condition such that KEAOS is unable to continue to perform the vault functions of the device during the current boot; player functionality is typically unaffected.
  • Vault functions include insertion and ejection of discs, controlling the internal optical drive and the carousel, disc identification and import, internal disc drive injection and ejection and providing disc presence information.
  • The vault may or may not be able to recover from an "unrecoverable error" state after a reboot. Regardless, a reboot (preferably by power cycling) is usually the first recommended step when a user experiences an "unrecoverable" vault error for the first time on a given Vesta unit.

I have a M700 vault that has error code 32 that won't go away following a power failure and other than replace the unit there seems to be no solution according to support (an expensive and very big brick). It also seems to think it has disks loaded according to the browser although it is empty that there is no way to clear. On the positive side it still works as a player but if anyone knows how to reset it or refresh the firmware without a trip half way round the planet then please drop me a note as everything seems to work on powerup.

It may be a long shot, but you could try the inventory.html procedure described here:

Hi everyone just bought my first M700 used. It loaded successfully about 95 of my Blu Rays rejecting about 5.

Now I have both lights on, top and bottom of the optical drive - can’t load any more discs. What is going on?
Thank you!
Dave

Try power cycling (unplug power) the Vault. If that doesn't fix it you may have a stuck disc, or it could think you do, or that it's busy and can't accept a disc. If it doesn't reset with a hard power recycle, I'd open the case and check for a stuck disc (clean the rollers while it's open). If that doesn't work consider checking with Support. (The Vault opening instructions are here: Vault Opening Instructions)
