M500 compatibility

Hi, I have an older, small system with a 1U server and two Kplayer-6000's. One of the players has stopped working and is way out of warranty. Was looking to replace with something on the secondary market and just wanted to confirm that an M500 would still work with this system even it is a "Blu-ray" player. I assume it is backward compatible and will play my server content as well as Blu-ray discs?I know that I will not be able to import Blu-rays (or rather I will be able to import but not play unless the disc is in the tray or the M500).

Thanks for your expertise and I know that we are talking about a player that first got introduced 10 years or so ago.

An M500 will work fine for playing back DVD and Blu-ray content stored on the server or played directly from the tray. As mentioned the Blu-ray Disc will have to be in the M500 tray in order to play imported content. You could consider a disc vault at some point to hold Blu-ray Discs instead of having to load them individually into the M500.

I think you will find this a very satisfactory upgrade.
