Lowered hit-rate?

Anyone notice a lower hit-rate with CDs lately? The last 3 I imported were not recognized, even after I put in the barcode. These are pretty popular releases too:

  • [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Before-Self-Destruct-CD-DVD/dp/B001IX4CKC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1259102988&sr=8-1-fkmr0"]Before I self Distruct[/ame]
  • [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Rated-R-Rihanna/dp/B002UXRH10/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1259103038&sr=1-1"]Rated R[/ame]
  • [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Fame-Monster-Lady-Gaga/dp/B002W6Z0UK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1259103052&sr=1-3"]The Fame Monster[/ame]

Anyone else? Or do you guys mainly stick to movies?

Guess no one else is having problems (or uses the kscape for audio). For situations like this (and supposing the day comes when kscape closes it's doors due to these lawsuits or any other situation), it would be good if we could specify an alternate lookup database. It sucks having to manually enter every friggin CD

I use it for audio but haven't added many CDs in the past few months. I've not seen any recent problems like you describe, but that could be because my 500-CD collection is pretty mainstream and nothing really that new other than some popular kids albums my daughter has added.

Have you tried contacting the movie-guide team? (as far as I know, there isn't a special music DB team, I've always used the existing email address for movie-guide and they've responded quickly to music issues.)

I've not noticed any changes in this area. I think we load 2-5 CD's a week and are probably at 98% success rate and we usually see the missing metadata within a few weeks, if not sooner. Overall, we probably still have a dozen unidentified CD's out of approximately 1,200 stored (and most of these are foreign/obscure CD's that only my wife could find.:D) We never got around to sending the disks to K, otherwise we'd be at 100%.

Hey Josh,

Nope, didn't know there was a specific email to contact regarding the issue. As for the CDs, all 3 are pretty mainstream (all 3 artists are worldwide celebs), so that's why it's even stranger

Thanks for chiming in Jim. I guess I'll continue to be patient. It just struck me as odd since all 3 were pretty major releases (itunes recognizes them as well)

checked my system today, and all 3 discs (well 5 discs since 2 albums were double discs) are now recognized. No cover art, but at least we've got tracks!
