Latest KoS Version & Changelog?

My 3U Premiere Servers received an update a day or two ago.

"Your system upgraded to kOS 8.3.0-18666 on June 15."

Does anybody have a changelog or know what this update addressed??

That’s actually the update that is rolling out on the Strato. My 3U system updated to 8.3.0-18666 a few days ago and I have not noticed any change in functionality. I may have missed something, however.

John

My 3U updated on the 15th.
Noticed a new? option for my vaults "Eject discs not required for playback" and that the download speed is no longer limited to 100Mbps.

I had these on the previous version.

8.3 is a performance and stability release, focused on Co-Star improvements and improvements to audio and video playback robustness.

We also introduced a change to the behavior of playback of multi-angle content. The angle messages are suppressed unless you explicitly turn them on in the playback options window. This makes the experience on content like the Star Trek Blu-ray discs much better.

My Encore system upgraded to kOS 10.3.2-18928 just now. I will report back if I notice any changes.
No change for the Premiere - kOS 8.3.0-18666 since June 15.

This is a very narrow bug fix release that fixes an issue that could cause Strato players to crash, and also fixes an issue that prevented script import from working on Strato.

I had both of my Stratos crash several weeks ago. Submitted a support ticket. Haven't heard anything (they did review my log files). Wonder if this fixed it.... SJ

My Home Theater Strato C too, twice if I remember well and rebooted automatically. Never submitted a ticket as at the same time I was "playing" with the Radiance Pro and thought that it could be linked to an HDCP problem between the two devices.

I believe my issue was tied to playing movies from my Terra Server, but who knows. I also am in the process of upgrading my network with all business class switches, etc. to make it a bit more robust.

My Encore system upgraded to kOS 10.4.3-19503 & Premiere to kOS 8.4.3-19405

Any major updates or "just" performance and stability release?

That's it. Fixes for a handful of bugs related to playback robustness, HDMI/HDCP interoperability, and an issue that was causing problems with the iPad app and music playback.

HDMI/HDCP fixes you say?

Any chance I'll have better luck passing A/V through my Marantz with this update? And can get rid of the HD Fury EDID manager?

Very hard to predict with HDMI and HDCP because there are so many variables. I believe the specific fix incorporated here was related to improving interoperability with the Trinnov Altitude, but it wouldn't hurt to try it.

My Encore system upgraded to kOS 10.5.1-19600. Mike is there something new?

Thanks

10.5.1 is mostly a release in support of our new Marine service. It does contain a number of bug fixes and improvements "under the hood" for other systems, but the most user-visible item is likely that we have toned down the brightness of subtitles displayed when playing HDR content, which could be a bit overpowering.

Will the release help us multiple strato/costar/premiere users that don’t yet have a terra? Difficulty reading movie is present while trying to watch hdr content. Fine with HD content. Four players in my current system set up this way.

New kOS 10.5.2-19692 for the Encore systems. I guess bug fixes?
