... but we strongly encourage you to register for a full account. There is no cost to register for a full account.

Benefits of registering for a full account:

    • Participate in the discussions! You must have a registered account to make posts on the forums. You will be able to start your own thread on a topic or question, or you can reply to other threads/discussions.
    • Use the "Conversation" feature (known as "private messaging" on other forums) to communicate directly with any of the other users here.
    • Access the Files area. The "resources" area of the forum contains many "Favorite Scene" and Script files that can dramatically increase the enjoyment of your Kaleidescape system. Go directly to great scenes in your favorite movies, created by other owners, and add automation to playback of your system with Scripts.
    • You won't see this annoying notice at the top of every screen!😊

It's easy and free to register for the forum. Just click the "Register" button in the upper right corner of this page, and follow the instructions there.

  • 🔷Why can't I make a new post here in "The Marketplace"? 🤔

All registered users can reply to other members' posts here in the Marketplace, to respond as potential buyer or ask questions of the seller.
However, only members who have paid to become "Premium" members or "Patrons" can make a new "for sale" post here in Marketplace.

Premium memberships can be purchased for as little as $10... a very reasonable fee in order to sell equipment here, far lower than the seller's fee would be on eBay or Audiogon or other sites. Our site doesn't sell ads or sell user's information. This small fee is the only source of funds for the site to offset the costs it takes to run the forum.

For more information on purchasing a Premium or Patron membership, please see the Account Upgrades section of your user profile.

WANTED: Kaleidescape KDISK-750

I am looking to purchase KDISK-750 harddrives for the 5U server. I need about 3 to 6 drives. Drives need to be in excellent conditon and any contents must be erased from the drives. Thanks Ardell

Considering those are the largest sized drives available for a 5U, finding 750's available from current owners may be difficult. I suggest having your dealer contact K to determine if they have any refurbed 750's available. Although it is NOT a normal practice for K to sell refurbed gear, they "sometimes" are able to offer a refurbed drive to replace a failed out-of-warranty drive as an accommodation, so they may be able to help. I know the have new 750's available, we just priced some for a client (I did not ask about refurbed drive availability).

I may have 4 750gb drives for sale. We have a cutomer's system we are trying to sell on their behalf. Don't know if he's willing to piece it out or not. What are you willing to offer for each drive?

Depending what shape the drives are in I would be willing to pay $400 ea. and I would be willing to purchase all 4 drives.

I will bring this to his attention and hopefully receive a speedy response. I will let you know as soon as I receive his answer.

He is willing to make the sale of the drives and part out the system. Do you need more than 4? We are also in the process of upgrading our own demo 1U in our showroom to 2TB drives. That would be an additional 4 drives for a total of 8. Let me know.

Drives from a 1U or 3U server will NOT fit in a 5U server, regardless of the capacity.

Anybody who is upgrading to 2TB drives is doing that with a 3U or 1U and as such, those older drives are not a viable drive for a 5U server.

You are correct. I had a rep at Kaleidescape say different, but when I spoke directly with tech support they confirmed it.

do you still have KDisk-750 drives available for sale? I am extremely interested in taking those off your hands, if they are. Let me know. Thanks.

Eric
