... but we strongly encourage you to register for a full account. There is no cost to register for a full account.

Benefits of registering for a full account:

    • Participate in the discussions! You must have a registered account to make posts on the forums. You will be able to start your own thread on a topic or question, or you can reply to other threads/discussions.
    • Use the "Conversation" feature (known as "private messaging" on other forums) to communicate directly with any of the other users here.
    • Access the Files area. The "resources" area of the forum contains many "Favorite Scene" and Script files that can dramatically increase the enjoyment of your Kaleidescape system. Go directly to great scenes in your favorite movies, created by other owners, and add automation to playback of your system with Scripts.
    • You won't see this annoying notice at the top of every screen!😊

It's easy and free to register for the forum. Just click the "Register" button in the upper right corner of this page, and follow the instructions there.

  • 🔷Why can't I make a new post here in "The Marketplace"? 🤔

All registered users can reply to other members' posts here in the Marketplace, to respond as potential buyer or ask questions of the seller.
However, only members who have paid to become "Premium" members or "Patrons" can make a new "for sale" post here in Marketplace.

Premium memberships can be purchased for as little as $10... a very reasonable fee in order to sell equipment here, far lower than the seller's fee would be on eBay or Audiogon or other sites. Our site doesn't sell ads or sell user's information. This small fee is the only source of funds for the site to offset the costs it takes to run the forum.

For more information on purchasing a Premium or Patron membership, please see the Account Upgrades section of your user profile.

This Cinema One was purchased in March of 2017 - it is still under warranty until March of 2020. The unit is in excellent condition. Original box is included, but the remote is not. Will ship via FedEx or UPS ground to the US. Asking $1,750 or best offer + actual shipping cost via UPS or Fedex.

I honestly don’t know. I inherited this Cinema One and admittedly, don’t know much about them. Kaleidescape did set me up with a local dealer - maybe I can him.

Here’s some answers to the questions that have been asked so far.

1. Can DVD ripping be transferred to this unit?
The owner should be able to transfer the DVD import rights to that Cinema One, but would obviously need to return a DVD import capable server, in order to transfer those rights.

2. Is this the Alto that can integrate with Strato
No, as noted, you have a Cinema One (2nd Gen.), not an Alto. The two may look similar, but they are different components and are not compatible. Cinema One's are part of the Premiere line, while the Alto was an Encore line product.

Quick query in relation to the DVD issue. Am I right in thinking that you can save/copy DVDs to this unit? The reference to "DVD import capable server" above has confused my simple brain! Thanks.

Again, I’m not at expert on these but it appears the answers are located here.

Import from Disc

When a Blu-ray disc is imported, the content is copied bit-for-bit and stored on the hard disk drive of Cinema One (2nd generation), or the array of hard disk drives on a Premier server. Blu-ray discs can be imported from a compatible player or a Kaleidescape Disc Vault. During playback, the Blu-ray disc must be present in the slot or tray of a compatible player, or in a disc vault for automated access without the need to find and insert a disc. Encore systems do not support the import of discs.

Thank you. I'm assuming that standard DVDs discs do not need to be present in the slot during playback.
