K-Vault10 grinding sound (help!)

Had an issue where my K-Vault10 got disconnected from my M500 player. Rebooted it, and when it came back on line it started making this grinding sound. I thought maybe there was something in the carousel, so I opened it up and the carousel is totally free and spins normally. Looks like it is a sound coming from the TEAC drive itself. I took a video but can't figure out how to upload it here. So here is a link to a dropbox of the video. K-Vault10 video grinding (If there's another way to insert a video let me know!) Wondering if this is fixable, or if I could order a replacement drive, or if the old gal has just had her day...?

Thanks!

I heard a similar sound once when a disc was stuck in the drive, but hard to say for sure. If the sound really is from the drive, replacing it should solve the problem. The one I referred to was a problem with the ejector mechanism (or something like that), and the disc was manually ejected and the drive was replaced. The Vault worked fine after drive replacement (it was a client's Vault, not mine).

Thanks, Jim! If I was to order a replacement drive (guessing I could find the same make/model on the Web) do you know if that is something that is user replaceable, or am I biting off more than I can chew...?

Not hard to replace if you get it from K, they provide instructions and it is user replaceable. I can't speak to replacement with a "like" optical drive found online, but I'm fairly certain some member has done that successfully, so hopefully one of them can comment. You already know our cost on those, so I understand why an alternative looks attractive.
