K M players decoding Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master to PCM- could it come with software update?

Is it possible that the decoding of Dolby True HD and DTS Master to PCM while retaining the full 7.1 channels if they were there originally could come in a software update to the K players?

I was told it was a hardware limitation of the processing horsepower available. Apparently rendering the new HD GUI is *very* processor intensive and that chewed up the space for fully decoding the next-gen audio formats. I believe that Malcolm said you wouldn't see this feature until the *next* player release. And, sorry guys! No secret knowledge this time about when that might be.

No, they are not software upgradeable.:(

So who will build us a decoder? Anyone want to explore building one?

I don't think that you'll ever see an external box that would convert DTS-MA or any of the other lossless formats to LPCM (which is what you'd want with a Meridian or Lexicon processor) and which, by the way, would also require some sort of video recombining if you were using your processor to switch video. I think that I have heard that someone (I don't remember who) makes a box that decodes the lossless formats and converts them into analog audio.
