Issues with K-300 players

We have a system running K-300 Mini players 1080p. Some of them failed last year. When the power was switched off and turned back on they just didn't show any signs of life. The conclusion was that they had a mainboard failure.
The K-300 Mini players were replaced out of warranty with the M300 players.

Now we have the same issue with 6 more players (K-Player 300, 1080p Mini), same symptoms - no lights come on, even the network LED's are not flashing.
This also happened due to switching off power ON-OFF. You switch them off...and they don't switch on anymore  Looks like the same problem, mainboard failure.

Kaleidescape does not offer out of warranty replacements anymore, and gives just a 20% discount off the M300 players.

Has anyone had similar problems with the K300 mini players?

Thanks,

Given the age of that line, it's certainly possible that there are more than the normal failure rate of units in the field. That said, the few dozen or so that our client's are still using I have not seen any consistent problems with that component. A couple have run hot, which was either a failed fan, or a ventilation issue, but overall nothing to point to a model related problem. The numbers you are reporting are way out of the norm, based on my experiences with those models.
