I’ve been using the Blu-ray disc template I got from this forum for my custom cover arts, and it worked perfectly until recently. They used to look just like the movie guide cover arts. However, since the Strato V and its tile display optimizations, my Blu-ray disc cover arts have become significantly softer, making the Blu-ray disc logo on the blue band barely readable. Has anyone else noticed this?

The template I use is 1080 by 751 pixels. Should I switch to a higher resolution template? I’ve observed that all movie guide cover arts are now artificially enhanced (sharpened), which started with the Strato V deployment and its subsequent software updates. I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but it feels like Kaleidescape might be trying to fix a flaw* in their new product by compromising the experience on older products. Is there a way to apply these enhancements only to the Strato V?

I really dislike the ringing caused by the edge enhancement on all cover arts, and I’m unhappy that my custom cover arts for my Blu-ray disc imports now look like they were taken with a potato camera. My custom cover arts are a necessity, not an aesthetic choice, because either the movie guide doesn’t recognize these titles, or it has the wrong cover art. Otherwise, I don’t enjoy spending time scanning covers, editing them in Photoshop, and uploading them to the servers. I hope I’m doing something wrong here, but what used to work flawlessly now doesn’t. It makes one wonder why.

*“Whether it’s a ‘flaw,’ ‘design choice,’ or ‘hardware limitation,’ my issue isn’t necessarily with the Strato V itself. They might not even be related, but the timing of my problem aligns with the complaints about the Strato V UI and the subsequent updates.”

I’m uploading images for reference. The cover art for Tremors 2 is from the movie guide, while the cover art for Tremors 3 was uploaded by me because this disc wasn’t recognized by the movie guide. I took these photos from my screen using my iPhone.

Note: Image captured with an iPhone 16 Pro Max from a Sony OLED displaying the UI from my Strato C, co-star enabled with my Premiere M300.

I posted this question on the Strato V UI thread but didn’t receive a response: Are there any plans to remove the “HD” logos from digital downloads saved on Premiere servers for a unified experience on Co Star systems?

Any chance of a comparable picture of the coverwall from before the winter changes?

Unfortunately, I don’t have any pictures of the custom cover arts before the winter changes. From my memory, they looked identical to the ones in the movie guide.

I imported Tremors 3 just the other day, but it wasn’t recognized. I had to enter the barcode, upload the cover art, and other info manually. It still appears as ‘unrecognized.’ Give it a few days, and the content team will update it. The image quality should then match the Tremors 2 cover next to it. I’ll take a picture and upload it here once that happens.

For reference, my cover art is a 600dpi scan of the original, and I do all the editing in Photoshop 2025. I’m attaching it here for reference.

Help me understand a little better exactly what we're looking at here.

You said this is on your Strato C. Do I understand correctly that the Tremors 2 image is from the Movie Guide, while Tremors 3 is one that you created from a scan with the template image?

Yes, you are correct.

I took a few more pictures today. Initially, Tremors 3 was not recognized by the movie guide, which is why I created the cover art from a scan myself. However, the movie guide updated yesterday, and now the Tremors 3 image also comes from the movie guide. It is very sharp now and matches the clarity of Tremors 2. You can compare the images from my earlier posts here.

I also took a few pictures of other titles that never received a movie guide update. For example, you can see 'Space Walker,' which is my upload, compared to 'The Final Countdown.' The screen photo captures don't do much justice here, but please pay attention to the blue band at the 'Blu-ray Disc' logo. You can see it is blurry and pixelated for the ones I uploaded compared to the movie guide ones. I am attaching the 'Spacewalker' cover art file I uploaded here for your reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions. I will try my best to explain the situation. I appreciate your attention and help on this as always.

'Spacewalker' is an amazing movie btw if you haven't seen it. It is a Russian sci-fi film about Alexey Leonov, the first man to walk in space.

So far no solution to this problem.

Here I have another example. Both of these two films, The Crimson Rivers and The Crimson Rivers 2 were unrecognized a few weeks ago. I imported them to my Premiere system and updated their details into the guide. I made the cover arts and uploaded them to the guide as well. The Crimson Rivers was recognized a few days later and the Blu-ray Disc logo on the blue ribbon became sharp. The Crimson Rivers 2 is still sitting in unrecognized status and the Blu-ray Disc logo is blurry. I have many other films in the same situation.

This used to work great but not anymore. All my custom cover arts are blurry. I am using the official Blu-ray Disc template. Maybe the content team is using a different template now. Can Kaleidescape kindly make that available to us?

I'm sorry, I have been scarce around the forum of late because I've been completely occupied with finishing a couple of software releases. Can I assume that the same issue is still present? I will talk with some of my co-workers who will be able to help figure out what's up.

Yes, the issue is still here. I guess an easy fix would be to provide here the BD template the content teams uses.
