Intermission feature

I hadn't originally coded the Intermission feature onto my remote control, as I thought it was mainly just for raising lights.

I added it recently to my MX-800 remote and now use it instead of Pause... way nicer. Instead of just pausing the movie, it pauses it and fades to the DVD cover art for the movie. (If so equipped, your room lights will brighten as well)

If you (or your installer) didn't put the Intermission feature on your remote, you may want to give it a try... much nicer than the pause button for bathroom or phonecall breaks.

Funny, I started out using the pause, but soon switched to the stop. It just seems a little cleaner to me. I find myself developing A.D.D about my library. If I stop a movie, I feel free to entertain viewing another movie, even if it was for a bathroom break. I'm watch the K the way my kids watch cable:)

Sorry to necro such an old post, but I just read a KB article on their site about the difference between Pause and Stop. If you want to go to another room (heading for bed from the living room) and finish your movie, you actually need to "Stop" in order to resume playback from the same point in the other room, as just using "Pause" keeps it occupied on the original player but doesn't sync the progress back to the server.

This Intermission that you speak of sounds amazing, definitely going to see if it is still available in the latest OS versions.

I haven't checked this myself, but @Croptop, if you're watching through co-star will Intermission work in all circumstances? (i.e. strato-stored movie, premier-stored movie in BR or DVD resolution, etc.)

Yes. Intermission works with Co-Star paired players regardless of which of the paired players is playing the content.
