Info displayed during Pause

I searched the forum and didn't find this suggestion already posted. I know when you pause a movie, the TV displays Pause in the upper corner. The app (iPad and I assume iPhone as well) shows time elapsed and remaining, but it would be nice *not* to reach for the device and unlock it to see time remaining.

If the time remaining were displayed on-screen during Pause, like most other UIs I know for playing video, it would simplify getting this little bit of info.

If you hit info on the remote, it shows the time remaining but doesn’t show a progress bar like in the mobile app. Also, doesn’t show the time elapsed.

I'm using a Logitech Elite remote, but I'll give that a shot when I get home and see if that resolves it for me. Thanks for the tip.

Still, it seems like displaying that when paused should be pretty simple, and it certainly seems to be the standard applied in virtually every user interface I've seen for playing videos.

If they change it I'd hope it's an option, as I'm one that if I have to pause for whatever reason I don't want to know how much time is left. Too easily distracted wondering how they're going to wrap it up if I know there's only 25 minutes left. :p

This could be a design decision from the plasma tv and early projector days. These static GUI images cause image burn in, somewhat of an issue on OLEDs but much less for other display types nowadays.

As a work around, you can program a macro with your harmony or alike, every time you hit pause, the macro would also include a subsequent info command.

Re: burn-in, a simple 10 second time-out for displaying that could address the issue.

The default for "Info" on my Logitech Elite configuration doesn't currently display the time remaining, but I'll try editing the configuration to see if I can enable that.

Yes! I would love to see more info in the upper right corner when pausing/FF/rewinding. Current chapter. Progress time. Etc.

Nothing changed for pause but info is updated now. On Strato systems, info button shows cast, director, rating, time elapsed, time remaining now. On premiere systems only remaining time is shown. Costar doesn’t change the premiere behavior.

I need a little more explantation on this as I am not seeing any change.

You need to have kOS 10.13. I just was upgraded as well. It adds a new first "Details" page when you hit the Info button during playback.
So does it just randomly update systems by itself or is there something I should be looking for to initiate this?

Does anyone know what the actual command that the INFO button on the remote executes? There is no specific info command in their control documentation that I could find... Thanks. SJ

I believe if you do a few power cycles, the system tries to call home and updates itself but there is no official way to force updates. If you don’t do anything, it will eventually updates itself but hard to predict when.

I have never used the remote control that comes with Kaleidescape products. I use swipe up on the iPhone app and info on my Control4 touch screen. In both cases, it displays the content info. The Info button behaves differently in GUI. It takes you to system info (IP address Mac address etc.). I don’t know if there is another command it executes other than these two.

Fairly sure it is "STATUS AND SETTINGS"
This is correct.
If it's useful, the Pronto Hex codes for the "STATUS AND SETTINGS" command are:

We push software updates to systems in phases. There is nothing you can do to get updated earlier. 10.13 is rolling out this week. You will have it soon.
