Import 3D Blu-Rays?

Joe

I have some Blu-Ray packages that include a 3D version of the movie. I know the current k-scape players don't support / output 3D. However, should I import the 3D versions so that if future players do support 3D, the content will be rendered in all its 3D glory - or is the additional information somehow lost or stripped away in the import? My understanding is that the import is a bit-image copy of the disc.

It is a bit-for-bit transfer, and while it's normal to import a single disk that has both the 2D and 3D copy on the disk (you select which to playback from the disc menu), it is a waste of storage space (IMO) to import content that cannot yet be played back. You can always import it after the capability is actually supported. Just my 2 cents.:)
