  • 🔷Why can't I make a new post here in "The Marketplace"? 🤔

    All registered users can reply to other members' posts here in the Marketplace, to respond as potential buyer or ask questions of the seller.
    However, only members who have paid to become "Premium" members or "Patrons" can make a new "for sale" post here in Marketplace.

    Premium memberships can be purchased for as little as $10... a very reasonable fee in order to sell equipment here, far lower than the seller's fee would be on eBay or Audiogon or other sites. Our site doesn't sell ads or sell user's information. This small fee is the only source of funds for the site to offset the costs it takes to run the forum.

Long shot: looking for a/>=1 faulty server. I have a 1U and 3U that are no longer functioning and appear dead. My current circumstances don't allow for trading up or buying new, and as I have a little more time on my hands than I'd like, I'd like to attempt to revive my old kit using parts from donors, as it were.

There's a small budget available, which shipping from outside of the UK may prove expensive.

Looking for a 3u server case with drive caddies for a project. Power supply would be a bonus but don't need any electronics or working stuff inside.

I am also looking for some dead drives to use the drive enclosures.
 
5U Server Blank/add-on disk needed!

Looking for a 5U Server blank/add-on disk. I have a 5U Server with one failed disk, and need an add-on disk to protect the file-system. Please PM me if you have one! Thanks, Cameron
 
Need a 5U disk, to replace a bad one

I am ALSO looking for a fresh, uninitialized, 5U drive.

I have a 5 drive set, but one of the drives is dead, so I cannot add movies, nor protect them should another drive go out.

Chris, just to clarify your post, are you looking for a "new" (meaning never before used) drive for a 5U? (sounds like it). The reason I'm asking is there are no "new" 5U drives available anywhere as far as we know. There are no 5U drives available at K, and as far as is known, all prior sales of 5U drives have been installed in Servers at some point, which means they would be used, and would need to be reinitialized prior to being used in a different 5U server, and K does not provide that service for out-of-warranty drives, which all 5U drives would be at this point.

The reason I'm posting here is one of my clients purchased a couple of 5U drives from Ebay after being told by a "former dealer" that they would work in his 5U. They did not, and had no value because they could be reinitialized. I may eventually be proven wrong, but I doubt there are ANY reinitialized 5U drives available, and I don't think anyone is storing new 5U drives at this point. The point is, you may want to consider other options. The obvious is to upgrade the Server to new equipment, but a less expensive alternative is to purchase a replacement used 5U. You might also find a defective 5U that has a good drive set that could be used to replace your drive set, but you would need to re-import your content.
