how to fast forward with strato v

i’ve been trying but i can’t wrap my head around the mechanics of FF and REW while watching a movie.

seems to be some combo of pressing FF once to set the speed then hold? then what, let up and press play?

its hands down the must awkward, frustrating and unrepeatable method i’ve ever experienced in a player. what am i doing wrong here?

using a harmony elite remote.
 
when i press FF, it does cycle through those speeds. but it just sits there. it will say 2x, then 3x, but there is no actual forwarding. the only way to get it to move is to hold the FF button.

Does it still sit there if you wait longer than you are expecting, or it doesn't shuttle at all? I have noted more recently that I need to take a mental step back and just wait for it (making the lack of skip-back when using Second Screen for short jaunts all the worse.)
 
it does not shuttle at all. will just sit there effectively paused indefinitely. i can slowly cycle through the FF modes and eventually hit play and it will be no different than a pause/play.
 
mine works... I'd try a forced reboot of the player first, and if no change, i'd say you should contact support or your dealer.
 
I'm assuming that you're using Strato V. You may be hitting an issue that affects certain content where ff/rew (so-called "trick play") sometimes gets stuck. We've made some improvements in this area in the 10.19 release but I believe there is still some work ongoing. Sorry for the frustration.

yup. it was happening on Bladerunner 2049. will let you know if the upgrade helps
