Yes, it’s in the store… but it’s not playable on the Strato V…
The vast majority of concert films are shot with relatively cheap 1080i interlaced video cameras, which adds another level of quality control in the deinterlacing process.
Yea, that seems to be the majority of mine left as well. Movie progress has been nice, but seeing the concerts that haven't been converted has made me hesitant to buy any new concerts at the moment.
I've got to say it. It has been 5 months now since I bought the Strato V and lost the ability to watch a significant portion of my library (the concerts in particular which are the favorites in my library). I have 46 movies/concerts that are still not converted. I feel like I have been patient, but I am getting frustrated as I fully expected this snafu to have been resolved by now. John, Mike, and others on the forum have been helpful in providing these updates, but at this point, don't we deserve an official Kaleidescape statement/commitment/schedule going forward. Frankly, I am wondering if some of these movies will ever be converted. I feel like K-scape should either commit to a reasonable complete conversion schedule and/or offer refunds (in store credit) for those movies that are not compatible, which we could use to buy the movies again once they are converted.The vast majority of concert films are shot with relatively cheap 1080i interlaced video cameras, which adds another level of quality control in the deinterlacing process.
I also feel disappointed that 40 of the concerts (plus about 30 movies) I purchased are still not available, concerts were a major factor when I made the purchase decision to go with K. As an early adopter of the V I was not aware of the fact that I would lose so much for so long. Would have kept the C in the system if I had known.
It's not just concerts, but also TV shows, that have not yet been converted or, in an equally frustrating fashion, certain seasons have not been converted. The following stand out since they are immensely popular:
The Soprano's (Seasons 5 and 6): Talk about leaving you hanging.
The Walking Dead (Seasons 2 through 10): Talk about a teaser with Season 1.
Damages (Seasons 2 through 5): Again, a teaser.
Justified (Seasons 2, 4, 5, 6): Why even begin watching?
Saw (Seasons 2 and 3): Why all the others but not these two seasons?
Banshee (Season 2): An unwanted intermission.
Spartacus (Season 2 and Gods of the Arena)
Rome (Season 2)
Separately, the following well-regarded (and mostly popular) movies have yet to see the day of Strato V light:

There are quite a few movies still. I switched over to the V and honestly I’m starting to regret it. Bunch of my movies as well I can’t play.

And that’s just to name a few. There a lot more that I thought for sure would be transferred over by now. I think Kaleidescape should have came out and said a lot of our movies don’t work with the new player as a warning.

I'm still not sure why so many people jumped on the V that already had a C unless they had a flat panel and just had to have Dolby Vision for whatever reason.
It has already been stated that there may be some content that may never be converted because of asset availability. I was told there will be files that can be converted easily then movies that will need completely new encodes done from scratch and some that may not be available anymore. What movies/shows/concerts this will apply to I have no idea, but there is definitely some gambling going on as to what will actually work with the V compared to the C going forward.
