Great movie covers resource for geeks like me

For anybody out there who updates your K movie cover art as often as I do, I thought I'd post a link to a favorite resource of mine.

Before stumbling upon this site, I relied on Google or Bing image searches that had limited results and often did not include high-res options. Hopefully some of you find the site useful as you can typically download clean, original high-res movie covers along with studio alternates, plus you can often find alternate artwork (including international versions for many titles). I also appreciate that I can download a cover image (without any text) and title artwork as separate files, and combine different elements to come up with one-of-a-kind creations in Photoshop, Gimp, etc..

Enjoy!

Does changing the cover art in the browser for the catalogued collection also change the art when viewed on screen through your Strato C?

Changing cover art in the browser interface changes it everywhere on your system including the OSD on your Strato.

Keep in mind that if there is an update or if you re-download the movie, it will load the default cover art. You can go ahead and change it to your preferred cover art again.

A quick heads up to everyone who is planning to override their cover art images. We have a known issue in kOS dealing with some PNG files that can put your server into a reboot loop. We're working on a fix but in the meantime, I strongly recommend that you do not use PNG files. Stick to JPG files.

Technically, you can use GIF files as well but friends don't let friends use GIFs.

Hey Andy, did you ever create that shared drive with better K-formatted cover art? I’d love to more efficiently replace most of the art, as opposed to finding and formatting each of them one by one.

Hey Edgar, each piece of cover art has to be updated individually and I don't have any secrets to solve for that. I've easily put together several hundred over the years (probably over 1,000 actually 😭 ), and while I have no interest in maintaining a shared resource, I'd be happy to share a title or two if there is something in particular you're looking for.

Then again, everyone has different tastes and what I select may not be for everyone. I tend to go for cleaner looking covers that strictly show the title and don't list actors, directors, studios, sound formats, etc. I also choose covers (or make my own) that don't have the title covered by the corner HDR, UHD, HD logos.
