Game of Thrones in 4K?

GoT seasons were shot digitally with 4K to 8K cameras, CGI elements were created in 2K and the entire show was edited in the 2K workflow. The 4K physical media releases are sourced from these 2K masters and up-converted to 4K therefore offers very minimal improvement (if any). I would think it’s a waste of storage space to have them in 4K.

More than 4K, HDR provides image improvements, which unfortunately is only part of UHD spec.

How do you think they will price the 4K versions? $35 a piece without sale?

I have the Blu-ray’s and the 4ks - the 4k is significantly better looking. I’m just too lazy to get up and change the damn disks every 3 episodes …. I want K to take my money soon!
First season looked very subtle to me, not the best use of HDR. Same for Westworld. Later Westworld seasons looked recognizably improved. I didn’t watch GoT beyond the first season.
