Forced Subtitles not Working

I had some ripped movies where forced subtitles (ie where an English film has a brief amount of foreign dialogue so subtitles were added for this section of the movie even when subtitles were not a selected option for the whole movie) didn’t show. I thought it may be an issue with the movie edition on my dvd/Blu-ray so ignored it. However, I have found the same thing happen recently on downloads from the movie store. For example, I purchased Chernobyl and the opening scene of episode 1 is in Russian and I assume subtitles are supposed to show but they don’t on my system.

Does this sound like an incorrect setting?

Thank you!

Hmmm. Unlikely to be a setting issue. Do you happen to remember which film it was that was from disc? I will ask our store team to take a look at Chernobyl.

I heard back from the team regarding Chernobyl. They think you must have been referring to episode 2 (episode 1 starts in English). That scene at the start of E2 is deliberately in Russian without subtitles.
