  • 🔷Why can't I make a new post here in "The Marketplace"? 🤔

    All registered users can reply to other members' posts here in the Marketplace, to respond as potential buyer or ask questions of the seller.
    However, only members who have paid to become "Premium" members or "Patrons" can make a new "for sale" post here in Marketplace.

    Premium memberships can be purchased for as little as $10... a very reasonable fee in order to sell equipment here, far lower than the seller's fee would be on eBay or Audiogon or other sites. Our site doesn't sell ads or sell user's information. This small fee is the only source of funds for the site to offset the costs it takes to run the forum.

Selling a Kaleidescape 24TB Movie Server. It is a whole house system and can play up to eight 4K movies at the same time. The Terra download is up to 800 Mbps with the typical 4K taking 10 to 12 minutes to download. The 24TB can store up to 360 4K Ultra HD movies, 650 Blue-ray, or 3,600 DVD. Included is the server, external power adapter, AC power cord and Network cable. Asking price $6,500 firm, willing to ship in US at buyers cost. Attached are pictures.

UPDATE: Confirmed warranty date is January 12, 2023.

I am unsure about a warranty. The server has been checked and verified by a store that sells kaleidescape movie servers. I have attached the letter from them stating the server is in excellent working order.

It was purchased in April in a wholesale purchase which is why we had it tracked and tested to make sure it was clean and working. The letter from the dealer is attached to the original post.

I am unsure about a warranty. The server has been checked and verified by a store that sells kaleidescape movie servers. I have attached the letter from them stating the server is in excellent working order to the original post. I asked him and he was unsure of warranty as well.
 
Send details (serial number of the unit) to Kaleidescape Support and they will advise what, if any warranty is still on the unit.

That's true, but don't expect an immediate response, this would be the lowest priority at Support. (It's always possible it might get timely addressed, but don't count on it.)

Since brand new units now have a 5 year warranty and the cost of replacement K hard drives is crazy expensive you may need to further reduce your asking price to move it. If it was me, I’d find out what the current going street price is for that unit and then start discounting it taking into consideration that only 5 months of a potential 60 month warranty (of a new unit) is still available. It may be painful but you may need to do this or just keep it.

I appreciate your opinion and the information you shared. This unit is like new, still in original packaging and ready to be activated. Plus, this size Terra is no longer available through Kaleidescape., I am open to hearing offers and having a conversation about price with anyone interested in purchasing it.
