Export my movies off the server.

I was wandering if there is any way someone has found to access the movies on the hard drives, and export them to my own hard drive. I have home movies on there that would not be encrypted.
Thank you.

The system will not export data. The only way to do it would be to capture the analog output off the player and re-digitize the data, which apparently the MPAA thinks people do.

Do you not have the original discs to your home movies from when you loaded them onto the system?

I have had my Kplayer for over 7 years, and have misplaced my camcorder with my home movies that I wish to retrieve.

If I am understanding your question you have your own home movies on a pc server and you want to move them onto the Kaleidescape server. Is that correct?

Peter

no my home movies have been previously uploaded over the years onto the server, and would like to put them onto my own hard drive so can bring them to and give copies to relatives.

Sorry Davebarr, this makes perfect sense and I have a feeling that the K system does not distinguish between commercial products and home movies when it comes to moving off the server. Its NOT Kaleidescapes fault, blame the studios and the thirteenth century moguls who run them.

Peter

Im thinking that it might be possible for K to do it- you might have to send all your drives into them/ might be a real PITA/ but it could be possible. I'd ask.
