Encore to premier

I recently purchased a Strato and a DV700 expecting a working system after the next software update. Today, can I just buy a M300 player and split the system into a M300 / DV700 disk playing system (premier) and a standalone Strato to play the movies I download ?

My A/V receiver has enough inputs and this seems the best way forward to get some use from my recent purchase.

In order to use an M300 and a DV700 together, you would also need a Premiere line server (either a 1U or a 3U -- or even an older 5U or 1st Gen Cinema One).

Your Strato will definitely work as a stand-alone unit for content downloaded from the store.

The other option would be an Alto. The Alto fully supports the Disc Server, and could be grouped with the Strato to provide storage for Movie Store downloads (DVD quality and Blu-ray quality only; Alto can't store 4K UHD content).

The advantage of this approach, apart from being able to share storage like that, is that if the company were able to fully re-start and complete the Disc Server support for your Strato, you'd still have a completely rational, integrated system, with a second player zone and more storage.

I did not want to hear I need a server, but I expected it.

The alto sounds good. I'll have to look into this.

Thanks for the information.

Just received an Alto to add to the mix.
Between the discs in the DV700 and the downloaded movies in the Strato. The Alto is working great.

Thank You for the suggestion.
