  • 🔷Why can't I make a new post here in "The Marketplace"? 🤔

    All registered users can reply to other members' posts here in the Marketplace, to respond as potential buyer or ask questions of the seller.
    However, only members who have paid to become "Premium" members or "Patrons" can make a new "for sale" post here in Marketplace.

    Premium memberships can be purchased for as little as $10... a very reasonable fee in order to sell equipment here, far lower than the seller's fee would be on eBay or Audiogon or other sites. Our site doesn't sell ads or sell user's information. This small fee is the only source of funds for the site to offset the costs it takes to run the forum.

Selling a DV700 Vault in perfect working order and fantastic condition. It was my store demo unit and in absolutely mint condition with NO scratches or marks of any sort. Used very little and shown more as a representation of being a key Kaleidescape dealer at the time. Used in conjunction with an M500 and KSever 1500 (which is are grandfathered and fully licensed - sell at a later date) The unit was never installed into a rack system and sitting on a shelf and no components stacked on top of the DV700. The DV700 Vault was purchased new from Kaleidescape and has NEVER been or needed service. The pictures show the condition as 10 out of 10. The unit was purchased in November 2013 and has been in storage for the last three years. The serial number is 060300000813. Ship with a brand new factory box and packaging. Was asking $3400 plus shipping. Now sell for $3100.00 including shipping!

Fairly sure I know the answer, but different manufacturers treat dealer demos differently: does K consider this unit as new or used?
 
It's treated as used. It is dealer "holding" (inventory) stock that is treated as new (assuming they are in fact new, meaning not put into use).

The unit is considered used since it is past the warranty period from that date of ownership even by a dealer. As soon as a Kaleidescape unit is seen by the Kaleidescape server online, that's basically when the unit is activated and warranty starts on the unit(s).
